Family photos in a creek?!? Sign us up!

Our kids had a blast and now get right into any creek they can find. It's fun.... they are fun... everything is fun. :)

Let's pretend it's still July

Yea, yea, it's July! So I can post about my big ol' 4 year olds and it's still birthday month!

We ROCKED the double birthday theme for the first time (of many I'm sure). Callie wanted a "sugar" birthday which is spot on for her! She quickly retreated when she realized that's not what Miles might agree to, and I told- Stick with what you want, I'll make it happen! I didn't realize my strong willed lil bit would give up her pick to make Miles happy- which is sweet, but I want her to have a strong voice too! So we came up with the Sweets part of SING and Sweets! We got all kinds of candy and fun stuff to share with friends at their party and a lot of it went to school to the treat basket! :)

Miles was basically obsessed with the SING and SING 2 movies but more specifically, Johnny and the songs Johnny sings! Which is still kind of funny considering we are working on the "s" sound and he calls it Zing, where Johnny sings Ky Full of Tars and I'm Till Tanding. One day, I'll look back and think, oh how weet. ;)

So the SING and Sweets Collaboration Celebration was a huge hit and we continue to talk about it almost daily. In fact, Rowan asked me yesterday if he could have a baby Johnny cookie and when I said they were gone, he proceeded to tell me, "I didn't even get one." Rotten 2 year old.

Miles and Callie are now in preschool! Which they love! I think they are attached to the idea that they are doing what Lucy is doing and she is all too helpful to explain exactly how their day and year in preschool should go. Miles did tell me he had an accident and called another boy a "baby butt." We had a very serious talk about not calling names but he seemed to take the other kid's name calling of "chicken butt" pretty personally. We will see how that plays out.  Callie seems to do just fine, reporting the events of the day like another little future journalist I know. She's also the first to answer "What did you have for snack?"

At their well check, for the first time (and I know Miles was feeling puny due to air quality stuff) Callie weighed more! She weighed in a 36 pounds and 33.7 inches tall(49 percentile)! Miles was measured at 35 pounds and 34.1 inches tall. (51 percentile)  They are so similar but I would never guess Callie would ever outweigh Miles.
