We made it! Jan-Feb

January is over and we are halfway through February! We make the most of every minute around here and I wasn't wishing away our winter...but I am excited to feel our fake spring, warm weather. And to make it through basketball season without missing a single game or practice from three teams- WE DID IT!!! Basketball season was busy and fun and everyone made huge growth! For Callie, it was being able to play and even score in her game without me being on the court or holding her hand. :) For Lucy, her defense is amazing-even when the Y league basically asks them not to play defense.... She not only can get the ball to the basket, but she had multiple baskets this season. For me, Slate Run girls had their best season on record and those girls, grew so much from last season. I can't wait to see how they continue on! And Miles...he actually played in a game or two but also knew himself enough to ask to play in the kids club instead of play basketball. Hahaha!

We are always looking for warmer weather and running around outside. This taste of warm weather reminds me that we can wear those kiddos out a little easier by getting fresh air! Although it seems like the fresh air makes them grow faster- and I can't have that.

We all suffered through some sort of illness this season, here's hoping its all gone. Rowan started with the stomach bug- which ended up getting to everyone but Lucy. Everyone got a day(or night) of throwing up. The silver lining is that Miles and Callie can make it into a bowl now- and that's a big deal around here. It sure was helpful with the messes. Rowan on the other hand- didn't know what to do with all that business.

Then somehow I got stuck with something that was not flu/covid/strep but disguised itself as strep close enough to get antibiotics from the Little Clinic and it took a few days to kick it. The kids ended up with snotty noses but Miles really got hit hard- as he seems to with anything connected to respiratory stuff. He needed several breathing treatments to keep up with everyone else.

We were going on weeks of someone being up all night. Right now, we are in a pretty sweet spot of only having Rowan waking up to sleep in "mommas bed" every once in a while. (and lets be real, it is so sweet)

Now that we are all well- Lucy looks like a 2nd grader and acts like the leader of a small mafia gang. She can read and comprehend and finds humor in the "Butt Drugs Pharmacy" billboard next to the highway- so that's  fun.

Callie has adopted the phrase "of course" lately. As in, "of course I wouldn't hit Miles. Of course its too cold to swim. Of course I know what to do next!" It's adorable but also she sounds like a teenager.

Miles is still everyone but Miles. Wolverine, Spiderman, Gecko, and CatBoy- he even opted for Owlette when Rowan dumped powder in the basket of costumes and we had to wash them all- including all the masks and accessories. He has been on the mend longer than we would all prefer- he's a bit of a beast when he's unwell. Ever since he's been feeling better, he's been perfectly hilarious.

Rowan on the other hand- is perfectly content to destroy anything in his path- but he is also laughing about it. He's adorable but downright scary. He's forming sentences like "No, momma, you stink" for example. He's willing and able to tell on his siblings- which is kind of helpful..."Miles being mean!" He's climbing on tables to put his own shoes on and throwing a fit with his arms crossed and foot stomping. He has come into his own obsession with Toy Story- so that works well for us. He also majorly connected to anything with Minions and he often sounds just like them.

This bunch of crazies is loving life and living big!
