Rowan-asaurus is a TWO-Rex!

The baby is TWO. Little, bitty Rowan is not a baby and he will be the first to tell ya. He's a firecracker and acts as big as his siblings even if he has zero impulse control and wants what he wants-RIGHT NOW. He's a cutie for sure and has learned to use his "sweet voice" to get what he wants. He still goes to bed first and we all sigh in relief when he is asleep. He will wear you out and kiss your face. He will steal your phone and act like he found it for you. He will also jump off the couch onto you and then sit quietly and watch a movie... His hair is still awesomely fluffy and requires a cut every other month. He thinks "Go get gas" is a put down of some sort... and tells Matt to "go get gas!!!" just about every morning when he isn't quite ready to wake up. He loves Buzz Lightyear, Dinos, snacks, fluffy stuffies, anything his siblings have and anything he can throw. He’s also figured out that he can climb out of his bed and open the two doors it takes to get to the living room. He proudly exclaimed, I wake up!!!! After being in bed for about 4 minutes. Keep us in your well wishes  ;)

He is very independent, doesn't need any help at all to climb on the table or scale the back of the couch. He will find the one thing in the room that he shouldn't toiuch and destroy it. Callie still refers to him as Destructo Baby. He's super great at throwing rolls of toilet paper in the potty (Only successful once.... although he's been caught in the act several times.) He is able to put his shoes on by himself and almost get himself dressed- which he thinks is some sort of hilarious trick. We still call him Row Row or Rowie but he refers to himself as whoa-win. And it's precious. He went through a MoMan phase and that was sweet too.

He goes to infinity and beyond more often than not. This kid is a force.

Spring Post!

It's so awesome that I used to be able to do monthly posts. BAHAHAH.

It's fine, everything is fine. We are just busy out here living life to the fullest and falling asleep at night like we've run a marathon each day.

Spring is here....wait, it's almost gone. Summer is about to be amazing.

Spring was wonderful, we saw Disney on Ice in Cincinnati, Matt and I saw Brett Young in concert, we went to Gatlinburg for a bit on spring break.  We started tee ball softball, with both myself and Matt coaching Lucy's team again. I started FitCamp again, at the park this time. We got all snazzy for Easter, and celebrated Pollinator Day! We got to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in years! Thunder over Louisville was a huge hit this year because we stayed at the Sheraton in Jeff and did not deal with any crazy traffic. Lucy won the science fair for Kindergarten at our school. We went to the balloon glow again and it was awesome. Then May flew on by with lots of softball, a trip to French Lick to celebrate Matt's birthday, lots of fun "spirit" school days and assemblies, I finally had a dentist appointment (first one since Oct 2019 and you can't even judge because I got a great report!!), Lucy rides a bike without training wheels and Rowan's birthday!! We will finish up with the last week of school next week so exciting summer things can begin.

We did lots of boring, great things too and we did play at home more than it sounds. Luckily, we've all stayed well and out of trouble (mostly) so we can enjoy all this fun stuff. I am hoping all of that stays the same for summer!

We made it! Jan-Feb

January is over and we are halfway through February! We make the most of every minute around here and I wasn't wishing away our winter...but I am excited to feel our fake spring, warm weather. And to make it through basketball season without missing a single game or practice from three teams- WE DID IT!!! Basketball season was busy and fun and everyone made huge growth! For Callie, it was being able to play and even score in her game without me being on the court or holding her hand. :) For Lucy, her defense is amazing-even when the Y league basically asks them not to play defense.... She not only can get the ball to the basket, but she had multiple baskets this season. For me, Slate Run girls had their best season on record and those girls, grew so much from last season. I can't wait to see how they continue on! And Miles...he actually played in a game or two but also knew himself enough to ask to play in the kids club instead of play basketball. Hahaha!

We are always looking for warmer weather and running around outside. This taste of warm weather reminds me that we can wear those kiddos out a little easier by getting fresh air! Although it seems like the fresh air makes them grow faster- and I can't have that.

We all suffered through some sort of illness this season, here's hoping its all gone. Rowan started with the stomach bug- which ended up getting to everyone but Lucy. Everyone got a day(or night) of throwing up. The silver lining is that Miles and Callie can make it into a bowl now- and that's a big deal around here. It sure was helpful with the messes. Rowan on the other hand- didn't know what to do with all that business.

Then somehow I got stuck with something that was not flu/covid/strep but disguised itself as strep close enough to get antibiotics from the Little Clinic and it took a few days to kick it. The kids ended up with snotty noses but Miles really got hit hard- as he seems to with anything connected to respiratory stuff. He needed several breathing treatments to keep up with everyone else.

We were going on weeks of someone being up all night. Right now, we are in a pretty sweet spot of only having Rowan waking up to sleep in "mommas bed" every once in a while. (and lets be real, it is so sweet)

Now that we are all well- Lucy looks like a 2nd grader and acts like the leader of a small mafia gang. She can read and comprehend and finds humor in the "Butt Drugs Pharmacy" billboard next to the highway- so that's  fun.

Callie has adopted the phrase "of course" lately. As in, "of course I wouldn't hit Miles. Of course its too cold to swim. Of course I know what to do next!" It's adorable but also she sounds like a teenager.

Miles is still everyone but Miles. Wolverine, Spiderman, Gecko, and CatBoy- he even opted for Owlette when Rowan dumped powder in the basket of costumes and we had to wash them all- including all the masks and accessories. He has been on the mend longer than we would all prefer- he's a bit of a beast when he's unwell. Ever since he's been feeling better, he's been perfectly hilarious.

Rowan on the other hand- is perfectly content to destroy anything in his path- but he is also laughing about it. He's adorable but downright scary. He's forming sentences like "No, momma, you stink" for example. He's willing and able to tell on his siblings- which is kind of helpful..."Miles being mean!" He's climbing on tables to put his own shoes on and throwing a fit with his arms crossed and foot stomping. He has come into his own obsession with Toy Story- so that works well for us. He also majorly connected to anything with Minions and he often sounds just like them.

This bunch of crazies is loving life and living big!
